How It Works ?
Semi-automatic sliding door closer use a rack and pinion mechanism connected to a hydraulic damper and a spring.
1. Opening (Manual): When you push the door open, the sliding movement turns a pinion gear. This gear pulls a piston rod against a spring inside a hydraulic cylinder, compressing the spring and pushing hydraulic fluid through small internal channels.
2. Closing (Automatic): When you let go, the compressed spring provides the force to push the piston back. The hydraulic fluid is forced back through a separate, adjustable valve, which controls the speed of the closing action. This ensures a smooth, controlled, and quiet close, preventing the door from slamming shut.
